# The Unwind #1: Cold start


Welcome to The Unwind #1. The plan is simple: roughly once a week, I'll
send out a hand-curated mix of things I've read worth sharing and things
I built or worked on, with short commentary on both. The shape is heavily
inspired by Thorsten Ball's
[Register Spill](https://thorstenball.com/register-spill/), which I've
followed for a while and admired from a distance. A lot of what shows up
here will come from my second-brain capture in
[Obsidian](https://obsidian.md) — notes I keep while reading and
working, surfaced into one place each week. Future issues will get into
specifics. This one is just the hello.
